Transfer guide — Ljubljana Airport to Warmbad-Villach, Carinthia
how to get to Warmbad Villach · Warmbad transfer · Ljubljana Airport Villach · Villach thermal spa · private transfer Warmbad
There are many Indians, few Chiefs – true Legends are rare.
And one drives the world — wherever you wish. 🚖
Warmbad is the thermal district of Villach, Austria's second-largest city in Carinthia — a place where Roman soldiers once bathed and where the water still rises at the same temperature it always has. The spa infrastructure here is serious: radioactive radon thermal water (in the medical sense — it has measurable therapeutic effects), a range of hotels from budget to luxury, and the full Austrian wellness hospitality that this region does well.
Villach itself is a pleasant city with a functioning old town, good restaurants, and easy access to the surrounding lakes and mountains. Staying in Warmbad means you have the best of both: the city within walking distance and the Alps right there.
From Ljubljana Airport: ~130 km to Villach. Main route via the Karawanken tunnel (~1h 30min). In summer, alternative routes via Ljubelj or the Korenska sedlo (Wurzenpass) avoid tunnel queues. In winter, the Karawanken motorway is the only reliable crossing.
Fixed price agreed before you travel. Tunnel toll (~€14) and Austrian vignette included. We pick you up at the terminal — no taxi rank queuing, no meter. Book the day before at the latest.
