Arrivals at Jože Pučnik Airport (Brnik, LJU) — First Things First

Ljubljana Airport — officially Jože Pučnik Airport, IATA code LJU, operated by Fraport Slovenia — is a compact, easy-to-navigate terminal located in Brnik, about 26 km north of Ljubljana city centre. From landing to stepping outside usually takes 20–30 minutes, even less if you travel with hand luggage only.

The airport is your gateway not just to Ljubljana but to all of Slovenia and the wider region. Lake Bled is 30 km away. The Adriatic coast is 130 km. Croatian Istria starts just over the border. Everything is reachable on the same day you land.

🗺️ You've Landed at the Centre of Everything

The plane has stopped and you are somewhere most maps barely show. That is the thing about Slovenia — it sits quietly in the middle of Europe, between the Alps, the Adriatic, and the Pannonian plain, and most people discover it by accident. Then they come back on purpose.

From this runway, the distances are almost unfair. Lake Bled is 30 kilometres. The Adriatic coast at Piran is 130 kilometres. The Istrian peninsula — Rovinj, Poreč, Pula — is reachable in under three hours. You have not landed in a city; you have landed at the doorstep of an entire region worth exploring.

We have driven people from this airport to all of it — the honeymooners heading to Bled, the families bound for Pula, the solo travellers asking to be dropped somewhere quiet on the coast. After 15 years, the question we enjoy most is still the one people ask as they get in the car: "So — where should I actually go?"

We always have an answer. And we always get you there.

There are many Indians, few Chiefs — true Legends are rare. And one drives the world, wherever you wish. 🚖

🏛️ Old Terminal — Charter Flights (Palma, Relax, Sonček)

Ljubljana Airport has two terminal buildings. The main terminal handles all regular scheduled flights. The old terminal — a separate building — is used exclusively for charter flights organised by Slovenian tourist agencies.

If your flight was booked through Palma, Relax, or Sonček, you will arrive at or depart from the old terminal. Check your booking documentation — it will specify which terminal applies to you.

Charter departures: check in at least 2 hours before. The operator's staff manage the process — late arrivals may be refused boarding.

🚗 We serve both terminals — just tell us at booking which one you need. Same fixed price, same service.

How It Works — Step by Step

1

Book the day before

Contact us by WhatsApp or email with your flight number, arrival time, and destination. We confirm the fixed price and your booking is done.

2

We monitor your flight

From the moment your plane departs, we track it. If your flight is delayed, we adjust automatically — no need to call us. No extra charge for delays.

3

Land, collect luggage, walk out

Clear passport control, collect your bags, step outside the terminal. We send you the car make and registration number by WhatsApp before you land.

4

Your car is there within 2 minutes

The driver is on standby at the terminal. Step outside and you're moving. Want a name-sign pickup inside arrivals? We can do that too — small €5 surcharge for the airport parking.

5

Direct to your destination

No stops, no detours. Ljubljana, Bled, the coast, Istria — wherever you're headed, we go there directly from the airport.

Our guarantee: If our car is not at the terminal at the agreed time — get in the first taxi you see, even if it costs €100 to the airport. Send us the receipt and we cover the difference. No arguments. That is why we are Legends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a transfer from Ljubljana Airport directly to Bled — without going through Ljubljana?

Yes — and this is one of our most popular routes. We pick you up at Brnik and drive directly to Bled, skipping Ljubljana entirely. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Fixed price from €75 for a car (up to 4 passengers).

Can I transfer directly from Ljubljana Airport to Croatian Istria?

Absolutely. We cover all Istrian destinations — Poreč, Rovinj, Pula, Umag — directly from Brnik airport. No need to overnight in Ljubljana or change vehicles. We drive straight there.

What if I don't know my destination yet — just Ljubljana for now, then Bled later?

No problem. We can handle the airport-to-Ljubljana leg first, and you book the Ljubljana-to-Bled transfer separately when you're ready. Or we can do both as a single journey with a stop.

How far in advance do I need to book?

At least the day before your arrival. We do not take last-minute or walk-in bookings at the airport. Once confirmed, your transfer is locked in — flight number, pickup time, fixed price.

Do you have a van for larger groups?

Yes — we have vans for up to 8 passengers. All destination prices listed on this site include both car and van options. Just mention your group size when booking.

What is the official name of Ljubljana Airport?

Ljubljana Airport is officially named Jože Pučnik Airport (Slovenian: Letališče Jožeta Pučnika Ljubljana), IATA code LJU, located in Brnik near Kranj. It is operated by Fraport Slovenia, a subsidiary of German airport operator Fraport AG. Most travellers simply call it "Ljubljana Airport" or "Brnik".

Is Brnik Airport the same as Ljubljana Airport?

Yes — Brnik is the village where the airport is located. Full official name: Jože Pučnik Airport Ljubljana, operated by Fraport Slovenia. You may see it listed as "Ljubljana Airport", "Brnik Airport", "LJU", or "Fraport Ljubljana" — all the same airport, 26 km north of Ljubljana city centre.
