🚂 Train Ljubljana → Vienna Hbf + CAT
Train Ljubljana → Vienna Hauptbahnhof (~5h 30 min, book on oebb.at), then City Airport Train (CAT) to VIE (~16 min, departs every 30 min). Total ~6h+ door-to-terminal. Comfortable for daytime travel, not viable for early-morning flights.
🚌 Bus Ljubljana → Vienna + S-Bahn
FlixBus or Nomago runs Ljubljana → Vienna city (~5h). Then S-Bahn or CAT to VIE. Check FlixBus. Cheapest option but total journey is 6–7h and relies on multiple connections.
🚗 Rental car with one-way drop
Drive A2 → Karawanken → Austria. Many rental companies allow one-way Vienna drops. Austrian vignette required. VIE has on-site car rental return. Works if you planned a road trip ending at VIE.
