Combining Istria with Slovenia

Many visitors do both: a week in Istria, then a few days in Slovenia before flying home. We can arrange the full route — Istria → Bled (overnight) → Ljubljana Airport the next morning. Just ask.

Or in reverse: fly into Ljubljana, transfer to Bled or Ljubljana for a night or two, then continue to Istria for your beach holiday.

Ending Your Istrian Holiday — Which Town to Finish In

If you have flexibility on where your last night in Istria is, here's how the logistics break down from each town:

• Umag — closest to Slovenia. 1h 30min to Ljubljana Airport. Good if you want a short drive and a relaxed morning.
• Poreč — 2h 15min to Ljubljana. Mid-peninsula, large resort infrastructure. Best if you're travelling with a group and need van transfer.
• Rovinj — 2h 30min to Ljubljana. Most scenic town, worth ending your trip here even if the drive is longer. Also 2h 30min to Venice VCE.
• Pula — southernmost. 2h 45min to Ljubljana or Venice. Best if you flew in via Pula Airport or want to see the Roman Arena before leaving.

Istrian → Slovenian Itinerary — What a Combined Trip Looks Like

Istria and Slovenia are natural travel partners. They share a coast (the Koper/Piran corridor), a history (both were Venetian/Austro-Hungarian), and a food culture (truffles, olive oil, wine). A combined itinerary typically runs like this:
